Blanc claims Champions League won´t decide PSG fate

Paris Saint-Germain coach Laurent Blanc is confident he will soon have news about his contract renewal and has claimed his future at the Ligue 1 leaders does not depend on the outcome of their Champions League campaign.

The 50-year-old has guided PSG to eight trophies since taking charge ahead of 2013-14, but the team is yet to make a major impact on the European stage during his tenure.

Reports at the beginning of the season suggested the club could part company with the coach when his deal expires in June if Champions League glory evades them again, but Blanc has dismissed such claims.

My contract renewal? You will have to be patient for now, but there will be news soon, he told a news conference.

We are making progress. My future at PSG does not depe…

Willian linked with Manchester United switch

The Mirror understands that Manchester United will move for Chelsea midfielder Willian this summer.

Mata, who turns thirty this month recently triggered a twelve month extension which sees him contracted to the Red Devils until the end of next season though he may allowed to leave should a replacement come in.

Willian has been at Stamford Bridge since the summer of 2013 and during that time has racked up two hundred and twenty-eight appearances, scoring forty-four goals.

He also won the League Cup in 2015 while he added another Premier League winners …

Cristiano Ronaldo beats Lionel Messi to Champions League top scorer award

Cristiano Ronaldo has beaten Lionel Messi to the Champions league top scorer award after netting twice in the final against Juventus.

Madrid beat Juve 4-1 in Cardiff on Saturday, the Portugal international getting his side s opener after 20 minutes and later scoring their third after 64.

That means Ronaldo finishes the tournament on 12 goals, one clear of Messi after the Barcelona forward did not play since the quarter-finals, when his side lost to Juve.

Ronaldo has now either won or shared the award for five consecutive seasons – a record and has six overall top scorer triumphs.

Messi is one behind on five wins. He was outright winner for four straight years from 2009-2012, before sharing the accolade in 2014-15 with Ronaldo and Barca team-mate Neymar…

Allegri: Juventus ´will be ready´ if De Ligt leaves for Bayern Munich

Massimiliano Allegri insists Juventus will be ready if defender Matthijs de Ligt leaves for Bayern Munich, as he revealed talks were ongoing regarding a transfer for the Netherlands international.

De Ligt has been strongly linked with the Bundesliga champions throughout the transfer window, with Juventus chief executive Maurizio Arrivabene revealing last month that the former Ajax man wants to leave the Bianconeri.

The 22-year-old has made 87 Serie A appearances since joining Juventus for a reported €85million in 2019 but has struggled for consistency in Italy.

Having won eight consecutive league titles prior to De Ligt s arrival, Juventus have only lifted one Scudetto in three seasons with the Dutchman.

Meanwhile, Juventus never conceded more than 30 l…

Edwards urges Luton Town to ignore scrutiny on relegation battle

Rob Edwards is keen for Luton Town to ignore the scrutiny surrounding them in the relegation battle as they prepare for another big game against Wolves.

The Hatters sit one point from safety in the relegation zone after back-to-back 5-1 defeats against Manchester City and Brentford.

While Nottingham Forest also lost last weekend, being beaten 2-0 by Everton, Burnley beat Sheffield United to move them two points behind Luton.

Asked how he is handling the pressure of the relegation battle with only four games left, Edwards said: “The stakes are high already, we all know what it means and it s really important to everyone that s in this at the moment, a number of clubs that are still fighting to try and avoid it and be in the league next season, it s so important.…

The Best Super Bowl Long-Shot Bet: Storming the Field

Long-shot bets pay a ton for a reason and that’s because of the improbability of hitting them. However, that doesn’t mean there aren’t any +EV ones available. With all the Super Bowl 58 odds offerings, finding and picking off some possibly poorly priced markets has never been easier.

My favorite long-shot bet for our Super Bowl predictions could be cashed before the third drive and with a little shopping around I can find it at 700 points higher between books in the NFL odds.  Here is my best Super Bowl long-shot prop bet for your NFL picks for Chiefs vs. 49ers on Sunday, February 11.

Newcastle eye ‘expensive’ Premier League ‘double swoop’ with striker ‘expected to leave’ for Saudi

Newcastle United want to sign West Ham winger Jarrod Bowen and Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin this summer, according to reports.

Bowen, 27, is under contract at the London Stadium until 2030 so will command a huge fee.

He penned a new seven-year deal last October, three-and-a-half years after joining from Hull City for £18million.

Given his importance to the team and the length of his contract, he would cost a bloody fortune, with West Ham unlikely to entertain a sale.

Everton might be willing to sell Calvert-Lewin due to their financial problems, but he is another player of great importance to his team.
